PPC Graduate Student Appointed to Fellowship Program

Joseph Hamm, a Public Policy Center Graduate research assistant and doctoral student in psychology and law, was one of eight UNL students to be appointed to the Center for Great Plains Studies 2013 Graduate Fellows Program.

According to the press release the program "provides a place for select graduate students to work, meet, obtain support, learn from fellow students, engage with Center faculty and staff, benefit from the center's resources and progress in their studies."

Public Policy Center researchers come from diverse disciplines, including: Business, Economics, Family and Consumer Sciences, Law, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. Faculty and staff are dedicated to employing their disciplinary approaches, along with the expertise of policymakers, and the voices of stakeholders, to create responsive public policy.

Pursuant to our mission, “linking policy with research, process, and practice," the Public Policy Center offers effective expertise in actively informing public policy by facilitating, developing, and making available objective research and analyses of issues for elected and appointed officials and staff; the public at large; and others who represent policy interests.

The Public Policy Center was established in 1998 by the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska. Although the Center is a University-wide unit, it resides institutionally within the UNL Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
