Public Policy Center Research Specialist and manager of the Gambler's Assistance Program Evaluation project,
Dr. Juan Paulo Ramirez, was called upon by a reporter for the Santiago Times as a source of information on gambling and the consequences of a gambling addiction. Katie Kidwell joined the Public Policy Center in May of 2009 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant.

Education

B.A., University of Nebraska-Lincoln, History & English majors, expected graduation in 2011.

Certifications

  • Registered Lobbyist, Nebraska Legislature

Areas of Interest

Ms. Kidwell's main areas of academic interest are 20th century American history, Great Plains history, secondary education, and German.

Projects

Katie's responsibilities include assisting research specialist with project tasks, as well as assisting support staff with office tasks. She is applying for a UCARE to begin in Spring 2010.

Personal Information

Katie is an energetic, outgoing, and organized person who feels right at home at the PPC. As academics come first, Katie tends to have her nose buried in her homework at the Coffee House when she isn’t at work. On the occasional instance she has some free time, she loves listening to a wide range of music & This American Life on NPR, collecting postcards, watching movies that make you think, reading David Sedaris memoirs, and engaging in anything intellectually stimulating and/or highly entertaining.
