Public Policy Center Research Specialist and manager of the Gambler's Assistance Program Evaluation project,
Dr. Juan Paulo Ramirez, was called upon by a reporter for the Santiago Times as a source of information on gambling and the consequences of a gambling addiction. Denise Bulling joined the Public Policy Center in February 2003. She has over 20 years of experience as a behavioral health clinician, manager, and planner.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Bulling's research interests are in the areas of disaster/emergency behavioral health and threat/risk assessment and management. She enjoys applied research that creates shared understanding among practitioners, policy makers and academicians via strategic planning, public engagement and program evaluation.

Community Involvement

Dr. Bulling volunteers as part of the Nebraska Critical Incident Management Team, Nebraska's Behavioral Health Emergency Response Team, and the American Red Cross as a local and national disaster mental health volunteer. She also volunteers as a member of the Nebraska Suicide Prevention Committee and serves on the advisory board for the Nebraska Injury Prevention Program.
