Public Policy Center Research Specialist and manager of the Gambler's Assistance Program Evaluation project,
Dr. Juan Paulo Ramirez, was called upon by a reporter for the Santiago Times as a source of information on gambling and the consequences of a gambling addiction. Autumn L. Backhaus joined the Public Policy Center in February of 2006 as a graduate research assistant. She is involved with the statewide Drug Court evaluations and other behavioral health projects.

Autumn is working towards her doctorate in counseling psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She received her B.S. in psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University and her M.S. in clinical psychology from Emporia State University in Kansas. Her primary research interests are related to the psychological dimensions of poverty, social class, and socioeconomic status, specifically related to service delivery, social justice, and public policy in the areas of education, behavioral healthcare, and general healthcare.

In her free time Autumn loves to travel, watch movies, and spend time with family and friends!
