Public Policy Center Research Specialist and manager of the Gambler's Assistance Program Evaluation project,
Dr. Juan Paulo Ramirez, was called upon by a reporter for the Santiago Times as a source of information on gambling and the consequences of a gambling addiction. Hometown Competitiveness

The purpose of this project was to identify realistic goals and strategies to reverse rural decline, such as building leadership and community capacity, engaging youth, fostering local philanthropy, and supporting entrepreneurship. The Public Policy Center focused on the documentation of practices and experiences of the seven communities that were participating in the Hometown Center entrepreneur system during the time period.
